Smart Criteria are bespoke filters that you can use to make niche searches - it’s like having your very own research agent!

How to add Smart Criteria

There are 2 ways to add Smart Criteria

Add Smart Criteria directly via chat

When you’re chatting to Telescope either when you’re setting up the campaign or when you’re refining your campaign by clicking the Chat Icon on the left of the recommendation screen - you can directly ask for your Smart Criteria there. Simply type in plain natural language and the platform will automatically detect if it’s appropriate for Smart Criteria and add them for you.

Add Smart Criteria Manually

If you want a bit more control you can add your Smart Criteria manually too.

  1. Navigate to the lead recommendation screen (normally by clicking + Add new Leads from your Campaign homepage)
  2. Click +Add Smart Criteria in the Company or Lead information side of the card depending which you want to apply the criterion to. On the Company side of the card it can be found at the bottom of the Telescope Summary; on the Lead side of the card it can be found under the ‘More Prospects from’ button
  3. Write your criterion in natural language. Be as prescriptive as possible. Click Add Smart Criteria (see here for ideas/the datapoints we can support)
  4. Your criterion will be validated to make sure we can fulfil your request. Once validated you will be shown the Criterion Settings. Here you can manage how loosely/strictly you want the criterion to be applied. Remember that going for max strictness may reduce the number of results you get. Click Apply Changes when you’re happy.
  5. The recommendations will reload with the Smart Criteria being evaluated. A green tick indicates a positive match whilst red indicates a negative match. A grey tick means we weren’t able to find enough information to say.
  6. Hover over the criterion to see further reasoning on why the criteria has matched/not matched. Use this information to Add or Reject the lead as required!
